MICHAEL COHEN
Business Debt Solutions is owned and operated by Michael Cohen, A. B., J. D. Michael was born in New Jersey and lived in California for most of his life. He practiced business law there for approximately 20 years. Since 1991 he has operated his own consulting firm assisting businesses with financial problems and worked as a business coach. He has negotiated the successful resolution of thousands of business disputes and significantly improved the health of businesses. He works nationwide across the business spectrum. He has also engaged in numerous communication and mediation trainings.

The SERVICE
Business Debt Solutions specializes in providing a business debt restructuring program to assist companies which have accumulated unpaid and past due debt, by creating and implementing a plan to manage those liabilities, thereby improving the balance sheet and cash flow of the business.
The BUFFER
Clients refer all or selected creditors to me so that I can directly field these contacts. Creditors are advised that a plan is being formulated to remit payment to them. They are invited to call at any time until the payment plan is formulated and all calls are returned promptly. This often leads to restoring credibility for the business. And Clients no longer are consumed by these unwanted calls.
The PLAN
I am able to provide a fresh, objective approach as to how clients can satisfy their outstanding debt. More importantly, realistic solutions can be created for a settlement plan that will be mutually acceptable to the creditors and the business. Plans are implemented that involve a reduction of liabilities, extended payment plans for the full amount of debt, or a combination of both.
The PRESENTATION
I will present the plan directly to the creditors or their representatives, and negotiate acceptance of the plan. Based on the cash flow of the business, this can be accomplished on an across-the-board basis, or on the basis of creating priorities among creditors, or for individual claims.
In the overwhelming majority of instances, creditors will agree to accept the terms proposed for settlement of the debt. The pressure on the business from the past due debt is relieved, and business owners can concentrate on what they do best, run their businesses.
The fees are reasonable and predictable in advance. In most situations no fee is charged upfront and payment is contingent upon successful results. If a settlement is not negotiated to the client’s satisfaction, no fee is charged.
